What It Is

What Is Custom Embroidery?

Custom embroidery is a decoration method that stitches your design directly into the fabric with thread, so the artwork becomes part of the garment rather than a layer of ink on the surface. That is why it resists fading, cracking and peeling, and keeps its shape wash after wash — the reason brands choose an embroidery service for logos, monograms and text that need a premium, long-life finish.

At Linushi, every order starts with digitizing — converting your file into a machine stitch file — then a sampled strike-off you approve before bulk. We run the production on commercial multi-head machines and tune stitch density, underlay and backing to each fabric, from structured caps to soft performance knits, so the result is sharp and the hand-feel stays comfortable.

How It’s Made

How the Embroidery Process Works

Digitizing

We convert your logo into a stitch file (DST/PES/EXP), mapping stitch type, direction, underlay and pull compensation so it stitches clean on your chosen fabric.

Strike-Off

A physical sew-out is produced on the actual garment and fabric. You check density, color and placement, then approve before anything goes to bulk.

Hooping & Stitching

Each piece is hooped and stabilized, then run on multi-head machines. Thread colors, trims and color stops follow the approved file for unit-to-unit consistency.

Trim, Back & QC

We remove backing and flyaway stitches, add soft-touch backing where skin contact matters, and inspect every piece for stitch quality before packing.

Capabilities

Embroidery Capabilities & Specs

The hard numbers buyers ask for — file formats, stitch types, sizing and finishes — in one place.

F

File Formats

We digitize from vector art (AI, EPS, PDF, SVG) or hi-res PNG and output machine files: DST (the universal commercial standard), plus PES, JEF, EXP for specific machines. No usable embroidery file? We create one.

S

Stitch Types

Satin for text and outlines, fill for solid areas, and running for fine detail — with engineered underlay and pull compensation so logos hold their shape.

3D

Specialty Finishes

3D puff for a raised, premium look, metallic and tonal thread, appliqué, and woven or embroidered patches applied directly to the garment.

Size & Placement

Left-chest logos around 3.5″, sleeve and cap-front placements, and up to roughly 10×10″ for full-back. We keep text legible from ~1″ height and 0.5″ stroke up.

Thread & Color

Durable polyester thread (won’t fade or crack) and rayon for sheen, with 15+ colors per design and Pantone-matched approximations on request.

Density & Turnaround

Stitch density tuned per fabric — denser on denim and twill, lighter on knits to stop puckering. Strike-off in ~7 days; bulk typically 2–4 weeks by quantity and stitch count.

What We Stitch On

Garments & Fabrics We Embroider

With embroidery, the garment’s structure matters more than its fiber. We embroider across the catalog and adjust backing and density for tricky materials.

  • Caps & hats — structured, trucker and dad caps (cap-front frames)
  • Polos & button-downs — left-chest and cuff branding
  • Hoodies & sweatshirts — chest, sleeve and back placements
  • Jackets & outerwear — including bomber and coach styles
  • T-shirts & performance tees — with stabilized knit handling
  • Denim & twill — higher-density designs and workwear
  • Fleece, sweatpants & beanies — soft-touch backing where needed
  • Tote bags, caps & accessories — promotional and merch items

Stretch and lightweight knits can pucker under heavy thread — for those we lower density, add the right backing, or recommend an embroidered patch so the design stays crisp and the garment stays comfortable.

Who It’s For

Applications & Industries

  • Team & clubwear — crests and player names on training and travel kit
  • Corporate uniforms — logo polos, shirts and outerwear
  • Workwear & trades — durable branding for daily, heavy-wash use
  • Hospitality & healthcare — clean, professional staff apparel
  • Streetwear & fashion brands — tonal logos, 3D puff and chenille looks
  • Promotional & merch — caps, beanies and bags for events
  • Schools & universities — branded staff and spirit wear
  • Distributors & agencies — white-label runs for your clients

Pick the Right Method

Embroidery vs Printing

No single method wins every job. Here’s an honest read on when embroidery beats DTG and screen printing — and when it doesn’t — so you brief the right process.

Embroidery

Best for logos, text, monograms, caps and premium branding. Thread is part of the garment, so it lasts the life of the piece — well past 200 washes — with a tactile, high-end feel. Less suited to photos or fine gradients, and cost scales with stitch count.

DTG Printing

Best for detailed, full-color or photographic art in small runs. Soft, flat hand and no color limits, but prints bond best to cotton and typically fade after roughly 25–40 washes. Strong for graphic tees, weaker for caps and heavy workwear.

Screen Printing

Best for bold, few-color designs at high volume, where per-unit cost drops as quantity rises. Very durable for ~40–60 washes, but each color adds a screen and setup, so it’s less economical for small or many-color jobs.

Many brands mix methods — embroider the cap and chest logo, print the large back graphic. We run embroidery alongside dye sublimation and screen printing in-house, so you can combine them on one garment without coordinating two suppliers.

Questions

Embroidery Service FAQ

What is your minimum order for embroidery?

Our standard minimum is 30 pieces per design and colorway. That keeps small brand runs and test batches viable while letting you scale into larger production later. Digitizing and strike-offs are included on bulk orders.

What artwork do you need, and do you digitize?

Send vector art (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) or a high-resolution PNG. You don’t need a stitch file — we digitize in-house and output DST, PES or EXP as required, then send a sew-out for your approval before bulk.

How long does embroidery production take?

A strike-off is usually ready about 7 days after digitizing is approved. Bulk production typically runs 2–4 weeks depending on quantity, garment and stitch count. We confirm a firm lead time with every quote.

Embroidery or screen printing — which should I choose?

Choose embroidery for logos, text, caps and premium, long-life durability. Choose printing for large, multi-color or photographic graphics. We run both, so many orders embroider the logo and print the big artwork on the same garment.

What garments and fabrics can you embroider?

Caps, polos, hoodies, sweatshirts, jackets, tees, denim, fleece, bags and more. For stretch or lightweight knits we lower density, add backing, or suggest an embroidered patch so the design stays crisp without puckering.

What’s the maximum design size and color count?

Left-chest logos are typically around 3.5″, with full-back designs up to roughly 10×10″. We support 15+ thread colors per design and keep text legible from about 1″ height and a 0.5″ minimum stroke.

Do you offer 3D puff, metallic and appliqué?

Yes — 3D puff for a raised look, metallic and tonal threads, appliqué, and woven or embroidered patches. We also add soft-touch backing where the stitching contacts skin, for comfort on uniforms and tees.

Can you private-label and ship worldwide?

Yes. We’re a full OEM/ODM factory: woven and printed labels, hangtags, custom polybags and packaging under your brand. We produce in Sialkot, Pakistan and ship to the US, UK, Europe and worldwide with tracking.
