Worldwide OEM / ODM Apparel Factory
Varsity Jacket Manufacturer for Streetwear, Fashion & DTC Brands
Linushi is a custom varsity jacket manufacturer building letterman-style jackets to your spec — wool melton or fleece bodies, leather or PU sleeves, chenille patches, and your labels inside. Cut and sewn from your tech pack or reference sample, from just 30 pieces per design.
Made From Your Tech Pack
Custom Varsity Jacket Manufacturing for Your Brand
A custom varsity jacket — or letterman jacket — is built from scratch to your specification — your body fabric, your sleeve material, your rib striping, your lining, and your labels — rather than a relabeled blank.
The same program makes Linushi a letterman jacket manufacturer for teams, colleges and club merch as well as a partner for streetwear varsity drops. Varsity and letterman jackets are construction-heavy: body, sleeves, striped rib, lining, hardware and welt pockets are all decisions your brand controls. As a full cut-and-sew manufacturer, we develop the pattern from your tech pack or a reference jacket, source materials to your target hand-feel and price, and lock the spec so every restock matches the first run. No tech pack yet? Our tech pack services can build one from sketches or reference photos.
Body & Sleeve Materials
Varsity Jacket Fabrics & GSM Options
Real numbers, not vague promises. These are the body and sleeve constructions we run most for varsity and letterman programs.
Wool Melton Bodies · 450–750 GSM
The classic letterman build: dense, brushed melton in wool-rich blends (typically 60–80% wool with nylon for strength). 450–550 GSM for fashion-weight jackets; 600–750 GSM for heavyweight, traditional team builds.
Fleece & Twill Bodies · 320–450 GSM
Brushed cotton or CVC fleece (320–450 GSM) for lighter, streetwear-friendly varsity jackets, or cotton twill for a cleaner face. Easier to print, lighter to ship, and friendlier to lower retail price points than full wool.
Sleeves, Ribs & Linings
Genuine cowhide or PU leather sleeves, or self-fabric for all-wool and all-fleece builds. Non-pill acrylic-poly 1×1 rib with 1–3 contrast stripes at collar, cuffs and hem. Quilted polyfill or satin linings — solid, contrast or printed.
Finishes include Pantone-matched dyeing, pre-shrunk bodies, and washed or vintage-treated shells. Every fabric is confirmed with a physical swatch before sampling.
Every Panel Is a Decision
Styles, Fits & Customization Options
Varsity proportions have to work over hoodies and tees — rib heights, body length and shoulder width all matter. Here is what you control.
- Fits — classic team fit, boxy streetwear fit, cropped women’s, and oversized with dropped shoulders.
- Styles — snap-front letterman, zip-up varsity, hooded varsity, baseball jacket, bomber hybrid, all-leather or all-wool builds.
- Sleeves — set-in or raglan; genuine leather, PU, suede-touch, or self-fabric; tonal or contrast.
- Closures — antique or shiny metal snaps, YKK zips, custom-engraved snap caps and pullers.
- Ribs — 1×1 non-pill acrylic-poly knit; solid, two-stripe or three-stripe layouts matched to your palette.
- Linings — quilted diamond polyfill, satin, or brushed tricot; contrast or all-over printed.
- Details — welt pockets with leather trim, interior wallet pocket, bartacked stress points, felt undercollars.
- Color & sizing — Pantone matching on bodies, sleeves and ribs; sizes XS–3XL or your custom spec.

Choose The Right Route
Custom Varsity Jackets vs Blanks vs Print-on-Demand
Decorated Blanks
Fast and low-risk, but varsity blanks are scarce, fits are generic, and you can’t change ribs, linings, sleeves or hardware. Fine for one-off events; hard to build a brand on.
Print-on-Demand
Zero inventory, but POD varsity options are extremely limited — no chenille, no leather sleeves, no custom ribs — and per-unit costs stay high forever. Good for testing a graphic, not a jacket line.
Custom Manufacturing
Your own fit block, fabrics, patches and labels at the best per-unit cost — the only route to a jacket no one else sells. The old catch was 100–300 piece minimums; at Linushi it starts at 30.
If blanks or POD validated your designs, custom is the natural next step — and a 30-piece MOQ makes it without warehouse-sized risk.

Before You Ask
Varsity Jacket Manufacturing FAQ
What is the minimum order quantity for custom varsity jackets?
Our MOQ as a varsity jacket manufacturer is 30 pieces per design, and you can mix sizes within that run. Most jacket factories set minimums at 50–300 pieces per color, so 30 pieces lets small brands launch a varsity drop without heavy inventory risk.
How much does it cost to manufacture a custom varsity jacket?
Cost depends on the body fabric (wool melton costs more than fleece), sleeve material (genuine leather vs PU), lining, the number and size of chenille patches and embroideries, hardware, labeling, and order quantity. Every build differs, so we quote per project — send your design for an exact per-unit price.
Do I need a tech pack to order varsity jackets?
No. A tech pack speeds up sampling, but we can work from sketches, reference photos, or a physical jacket you like. Our team can build a full tech pack for you, covering measurements, materials, rib striping, patch placement and labeling.
How long do sampling and bulk production take?
Each sample round takes 7–14 days depending on fabric availability and decoration complexity, and most projects are approved within 2–3 rounds. Bulk production typically takes 3–5 weeks after sample approval, plus shipping time to the USA, UK or Europe.
What fabrics and GSM weights are varsity jackets made of?
Traditional varsity jackets use a wool melton body around 450–750 GSM with genuine or PU leather sleeves, non-pill acrylic-poly rib trims and a quilted or satin lining. Lighter streetwear versions use 320–450 GSM brushed fleece or cotton twill bodies. We confirm every fabric with a physical swatch before sampling.
Can you manufacture varsity jackets under my own brand label?
Yes. We are a full private label factory: your woven neck labels, care labels, hangtags and branded packaging go on every jacket, and your designs remain your intellectual property — never resold or reused for other clients.
Do you ship varsity jackets to the USA, UK and Europe?
Yes. We ship worldwide, with the USA, UK and Europe as our primary markets. Orders move by tracked air freight or sea freight for larger runs, with export documentation handled and landed-cost guidance before you commit.
Can you make wool varsity jackets with leather sleeves and chenille patches?
Yes — that classic build is our core varsity program: a wool melton body, set-in genuine or PU leather sleeves, striped rib knit collar, cuffs and hem, and chenille letters or mascot patches with felt backing placed to your layout on the chest, sleeves or back panel.
